Please see this superb solid and chunky kitchen island.
This has a huge 2" beach top and base is painted white.
All my painted furniture has two coats of primer then painted with a solvent based paint from a high pressure air gun, then treated with brywax for a durable and hardy finish.
One side is shelving and the other is cupboard doors and draws.
Excellent item. Very heavy.
