Hello,
My name is Michael, and I’m a freelance translator for English, German, Russian and French.
What I’m currently looking for is:
1) Additional translation work, and/or
2) Other kind of work, as I’d really like to gain some experience doing other things, too. I am quite open with regards to new opportunities, however please note that I will not participate in any selling/marketing activities/Ponzi schemes and suchlike.
About me: I’m 34, EU citizen (German), I speak Russian as my first and German as my second native language and have about 8 years of experience translating from and into English, Russian and German, as well as teaching all of them in one-to-one classes. I hold a Master's Degree in translation in all four aforementioned languages. The texts I work with include marketing, technical and legal texts, such as advertising materials, manuals, contracts, website texts, presentations etc. My specialist field at university was technology, but in the course of my career I have also gained a great deal of experience working with legal and promotional texts, especially contracts and marketing brochures.
My usual prices are £0.06 per word (usually source text word) or £17 per hour if working from home.
My hobbies are: Reading (any kind of literature), writing books, studying foreign languages, cinema, history, photography, music (pretty much anything from Gilbert and Sullivan to Nightwish), travelling, hiking. II also run a social meetup group, for which I organise social and guided walks, day trips, game evenings, dinners etc.
