INSTRUCTIONS:
There are 3 settings on the hand held control, one is for bottom back massage, one is for heat and one is for top back/shoulders massage. Both massage buttons have two speed for massage, You can use any one individually but if you have massage on you would benefit more by having the heat on as well, because the heat relaxes the muscles. I used it for 20 minutes per session 3 times a day, but I don\'t think there is a strict time limit. The massager may only work for 30 minutes and then close down, but I didn\'t use it for as long as that. The heat section takes a few minutes to get really warm and I would expect that to work on a thermostat so it cannot overheat. Hope this explains it but I am sure when you use it just press all the buttons and change it for how you feel most comfortable with
